Problem:
Error message, "Power surge on hub port a USB device have exceeded power limit on hub port" appears everytime a USB device is plugged.
Solution:
1) Load Device Manager:
a) Right click "My Computer" and select "Properties"
b) Goto the "hardware" tab
c) Click "Device Manager"
2) Locate "Universal Serial Bus controllers" in the list and expand
3) Select the first USB Universal Host Controller. Mine is "Intel(R) 82801FB/FBM USB Universal Host Controller 2658"
4) Right click and select "Properties"
5) Goto the "Advanced" tab
6) Check "Don't tell me about USB errors"
7) Click "OK"
Note. If you have multiple host controllers then they should all be effected by the above action.
8) Close Device Manager.
