Problem:
Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Stop code: 0x0000007E when connecting iPhone to computer.
Discussion:
There have been reports of BSOD's Stop code: 0x0000007E when connecting an iPhone to some Dell Systems. Research indicates that the root cause of the problem is a conflict with older versions Logitech Camera software for the webcam. This issue can occur on any system equipped with a logitech webcam.
Resolution:
I have had replies verifying that in you update the Logitech WebCam Software/Driver Suite to QuickCam® for Notebooks Pro v11.0 the blue screen doesn't occur. (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/435/3055&cl=us,en) As yet, there is not a Dell validated Logitech driver/software suite, so any use of this software is at the customer's own risk. If the customer doesn't want to assume that risk then they can follow the workaround below to enable iPhone functionality.
Workaround:
The blue screen error can be resolved by uninstalling the logitech camera software and drivers then rebooting the system without the logitech drivers installed. The iPhone will then install and function normally.
