PROBLEM:
M1330 owners are inserting Mini-Disc Media (Media smaller that the standard 120 mm/ 4.75 in) in to the slot drive and the media is either not read or cannot be ejected.
DISCUSSION:
Due to the design of the Slot loading drive, standard 120 mm/ 4.75 in. media is required for normal optical drive operation. If a user inserts media smaller than the 120 mm design specification the optical drive MAY NOT read or eject properly in the drive.
SOLUTION:
Currently, the M1330 documentation makes no mention about mini-discs and due to lack of warnings, we've been seeing calls on optical drives not ejecting mini-discs. This has been escalated to Product Group for action and any Product Support Quick Notes (PSQN) published in the future will be addressed in future emails. It has been validated that media smaller than 120 mm should not be used in the M1330 optical drive.
