Inspiron Desktop 530/530s or Vostro 200/400 may not boot from optical drive with network PXE boot failure after motherboard replacement.

Problem:
Inspiron Desktop 530/530s or Vostro 200/400 may not boot from optical drive with network PXE boot failure after motherboard replacement.

Discussion:
This can occur when the the service stock motherboard replacement is shipped in manufacturing mode. The ability to boot into the operating system and use the optical drive is not effected by this issue.

The manufacturing mode can be disabled if BIOS revision 1.0.5 or higher is installed.

Resolution:
Solution: To resolve the issue, download and install the latest version of the BIOS from support.dell.com.
1. Browse to support.dell.com.
2. Click the link for Downloads.
3. Search for the latest version of the BIOS under BIOS Updates for your system.
4. Download and install the updated version of the BIOS.
5. While the system is rebooting after BIOS updated, press F2 to access the system setup.
6. Use the right or left arrow to select Load BIOS Default.
7. Press Enter and type Y to load BIOS default settings.

The manufacturing mode should be cleared and the system should be able to boot from Optical drive. If problem persist, continue troubleshoot with decision tree Optical Drive Troubleshooting.
